OCZ debuts the Everest 2 at this years CES, the follow-up to their Indilinx Everest controller. The drives have also had an upgrade to their firmware architecture and should be able to achieve sequencial read speeds of up to 550 MB/s with writes surpassing 500 MB/s. Utilizing 2x nm-class MLC Flash memory chips, OCZ states the chips could potentially reach up to 105,000 IOPS for random read and 90,000 IOPS for random writes. So far, details have been sparse but we’ll know more once we reach closer to the six month launch date.

Mushkin debuts 3 new SSDs at this year’s CES, the first starting with the Chronos GO 1.8″ SSD. Available in Standard and Deluxe versions, the drives range in capacities up to 480 GB. Sequential read/write speeds are 560 MB/s and 525 MB/s respectively while random write speeds are stated up to 90,000 IOPS.

The next drive is the Atlas mSATA SSD which comes in Standard and Deluxe versions as well. Capacities range up to 240 GB and speeds are essentially identical to the Chronos Go.

Lastly, there is the Scorpion PCIe card. The card allows for up to 4 SSDs to be plugged in and allows for multiple RAID configurations. Sequential read/write clock in at 1500 MB/s and 1275 MB/s. Random write IOPS is listed at 120,000.

Release date for all three is to be around the beginning of the year.

OCZ Releases 16 TB PCI-E SSDs

Utilizing the Kilimajaro platform, the Z-Drive R5, Z-Drive R4 and the Chiron are drives aimed at the enterprise market. The R4 and R5 drives support PCI-e 3.0 with capacities up to 3 TB. Speeds are stated to be very fast considering a bandwidth of up to 16 GB/s.

The Chiron SATA SSD will come in a capacity of 4 TB with data rates of over 560 MB/s. No other information is available at this time but the drive is stated for release this year.
