SanDisk Introduces the SanDisk Extreme SSDs
SanDisk introduces the SanDisk Extreme SSDs coming in two flavors, 120 GB and 240 GB.
The drives are targeted towards high end performance, reliability and energy efficiency.
Using SATA III, sequential read/write speeds come in at 550 MB/s and 520 MB/s. Max random write IOPS are up to 83K while random read IOPS up to 44K.
The 120 GB is currently on sale for $189.99 as well as the 240 GB for $399.99. A 480 GB unit will be released in a few months for $749.99.
SanDisk Forms Exclusive Partnership with Diskeeper
In other SanDisk news, the company has partnered with Diskeeper to bring their ExpressCache and NowOn software products onto their own storage solutions exclusively.
The applications helps boost system performance and boot times in dual-drive storage setups.
Dual-drive setups are useful for those seeking the speeds and access times of SSDs but want the capacity that HDDs can afford. The software helps to mend these two seamlessly to form one cohesive unit.
